Newsletter to Whānau

Kia ora koutou

This newsletter is to let you know that school will reopen on Monday 18 October for children of “Essential Workers.” We will be delighted to have your child/ren back if you are a Parent/Caregiver and need to work.  All other children will need to stay home and continue their learning from home. More hard packs with resources will be available soon. 

Your child/children will need to bring;

  • Morning tea and lunch

  • A drink bottle

Hours: 8.30am to 2.30pm

Drop off and pick up: Hunua Road pedestrian gate by the carpark entrance.

All other gates will be closed.


We will be working in bubbles of 10 and observing all Health and Safety Rules we are required to at Level 3.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you are sending your child to school on Monday to help us prepare.

This time around Home Learning TV | Papa Kāinga TV will take over TVNZ’s DUKE+1 daytime schedule between 9am and 1pm on week days, with programmes and lessons for children aged 2 to 11 years.

DUKE+1 is available on Freeview channel 18 (or Sky channel 504). Episodes will also be available OnDemand soon after the original broadcast.

Who:  The whole school

What:  Due to a generous donation from The Highwire Trust we are delighted to inform you that we have received funding to take our students on a day excursion to Kelly Tarltons. 

Where: Kelly Tarltons 23 Tamaki Drive, Orakei

When: Tuesday 25 May (bus departs school at 9am so please ensure your child is at school on time).

What to bring:  School bag, Drink bottle, covered shoes, full school uniform and a warm jacket.  Lunch and transportation will be provided

Room One and Room Six Soccer Day

On Wednesday 5th May Room 1 and Room 6 went to Papakura City Football Club to attend a Fun Day of Football, Activities and Prizes organised by Northern Region Football, Papakura City Football Club and Māori Football NZ. Such a wonderful opportunity for our tamariki.

Every second Wednesday we have been learning all about soccer and developing our soccer and fitness skills. Here was our first lesson.
